The opportunity will be to work in the private client team advising partners, clients and tax staff on matters pertaining to income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax mainly in relation to UK and offshore trusts and their UK and non-UK connected beneficiaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a knowledge of current legislation on trust and estate related matters and interpret this in relation to clients
- Understand and interpret the effects of trust deeds and wills
- Prepare and analyse trust accounts and working papers
- Advise internal and external clients on trust tax matters
- Support and assist in business development of the trust group with internal and external clients and intermediaries
- Monitor deadlines relating to trust clients
- Prepare tax returns for trust and estate clients
- Manage and maintain a small portfolio of private clients in addition to the main trust work. This will be dependent on levels of trust work.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
- Trusts/Tax experience in a professional services or corporate background
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Team work
- May have started STEP examinations
- Strong academic background
